Former Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho is set to leave Aston Villa in the coming days. Coutinho has been rumored to be leaving Villa Park throughout the summer after losing his importance in the team under Unai Emery's stewardship last season.

The Brazil international returned to the Premier League in May 2022 after his loan spell expired, but his comeback to English soccer has not been successful. Injuries have been the main reason for Coutinho's lack of game time and Emery is not happy with his performances, hence the decision to sell him.

Coutinho was injured in a substitute appearance last month but luckily the injury was not serious enough to affect his departure. Despite La Liga side Real Betis showing keen interest in Coutinho, he ultimately chose to join Qatari club Al Duhail.

If Coutinho's transfer fee exceeds last year's €18 million, Barcelona will receive a 50 percent cut.
